The best Monster Hunter experience

This is it! This is the best Monster Hunter game ever made. It has everything that makes the Monster Hunter series unique, but refined so everyone can enjoy it on some level. Monsters are creative and the battle system is amazing. The hunt/forge/grind loop is addictive even with its slow pacing. Sure, it might feel too slow at times and …

Monsters are creative and the battle system is amazing. The hunt/forge/grind loop is addictive even with its slow pacing. Sure, it might feel too slow at times and the story can be ignored at best, but that doesn't make it less impressive. I can't recommend this game enough.

Monster Hunter World is a rarity - a series known only for its difficulty and unapproachable nature suddenly becomes one of the most approachable and fun games this year!

As a hunter exploring the New World, you get the chance to hunt old and new monsters alike, with new weapon mechanics, new monsters, and plenty of quality of life changes. At its core, little has actually changed. No new weapons, and no special mechanics will jump out. Mounting works relatively the same, and monsters are still killed and crafted into parts and decorations with the exception of some randomly dropped ones.

As for the monsters? They are more lifelike than ever, nearly realistic in their gorgeous animations and natural behaviors. Whether it be turf wars or searching for a meal, Monster Hunter has never reached this level of ecosystem that it has in World. There aren't too many, but so much love has been put into them, from Great Jagras to Nergigante, that you won't be missing too much content. Save for a mostly empty endgame.

The shining star and what makes this a game for everyone, however, is the quality of life improvements. No more limited Whetstones! You can walk while you drink! Mantles to help you for a limited time! Eating while you're on a quest! These things seem simple, almost unnecessary, but they make the game a much smoother and far more palatable experience. The game is still difficult, much more so as new content is always introduced from Kulve Taroth to Lunastra to Arch Tempered monsters, and while it's a long way from HR 50 to the final quest unlock at HR 100, hunters will find the initial journey a blast to play. Find your friends and have a hunt!

Is it REALLY a new Monster Hunter Game?

I love Monster Hunter. I've played a few of them before and really perfected 4, but that was years ago. After I found out about a PS4 Monster Hunter, I was PUMPED. I love Monster Hunter. I've played a few of them before and really perfected 4, but that was years ago. After I found out about a PS4 Monster Hunter, I was PUMPED. Playing the game, however, I felt like they hadn't really changed anything at all. It's still Monster Hunter, just bigger. The controls are STILL clunky, so clunky and unresponsive that it ruined my time playing the game MANY times. I love difficult games, but not when it's because of glitchy, clunky controls, dumb camera angles, poor lock-on system. This game would really a 2.5/5 to me, but I'm sure to newcomers of Monster Hunter, this game would be a bit more enjoyable.

Back at it again with this game, Uncharted 4 took most of my time and its great plot made me want to finish it first than playing MH: World.

Just became HR. Crappy network connection is the only thing I hate about when I'm playing. It's not so much fun hunting alone...

Kirin was kicking my ass so hard that I had to make an armor just for him.

28 Thunder defense. If this doesn't work nothing will.

If I've already seen the credits of this game, why can't I stop playing?

(retoric question, no need to answer).

Me pasé toda la mañana farmeando a Tobi Kadachi para forjar un arma de trueno con la que cascarle a Nergigante. COME AT ME BRO!

(Lo mata Nergigante de un solo golpe) :(

I just realized there's too much grinding in this game. And it take's a lot of your time.

Ever since I did that network fix, I'm having a lot of fun now doing the hunt with fellow hunters. The more the merrier indeed. :D

Monster Hunter World has made me to completely stop playing Street Fighter V. It seems like there's only room for one "Lifestyle game" at the time in one's life.

Or how do you do this? are you able to participate in several gaming communities at the time?

Seriously?? Why does my PS4 keep disconnecting from the network! What's even more frustrating is that every after disconnection it suddenly gets back online right after. It's ruining the online session! I thought this was only a 2K18 issue... Tsk.

I'm starting to think there's something wrong with my PS4 already. I'm already playing via LAN through a repeater router and not via WiFi. MH: World ain't really super fun without the online session. I badly need a fix for this... anyone else with the same situation as I am?

I'm on the final 3 battles of the story, taking it slow now. It's hard to see how any game is going to outshine this one this year. Next to Yakuza 0 it's my favorite game of recent memory.

Finally got an R3 copy from our local store and I'm so amazed so far. This is going to be a Game of the Year nominee for sure!

I've been a fan of Monster Hunter since MH4U, and this is everything I could hope for. Just endless entertainment. Already hundreds of hours in, and I am still uncovering things.
