It's a cross between the Gears of War style action and setting with Boardlands style loot systems, and then add on some super natural abilities too. They also spent quite a bit of time trying to integrate multi-player, but I completely ignored all that and didn't feel set back at all.

After a few hours it settles into a new gameplay loop. Get to a new area, inspect/buy/sell weapons and armor, then progress through sections of the world cover-shooting your way along against monsters and soldiers.

It has an okay story, but that's not really why you play this type of game. The graphics are phenomenal and really show off the hardware. Ignore whatever reputation this game got when it was first released, it's a great game now.

Played via Xbox Game Pass.

Had a rare online couch co-op session (we ended up setting up a second TV in my lounge room and connecting to each other) of this a few nights ago (even rarer now my state's going into lockdown). Punched out about 3-4 hours of the story and side missions and had an absolute blast.

I really dig the powers and the fast-pace of the action. You're constantly getting bombarded but you nearly always have the chance to claw your way back. We definitely had a lot of those nail-biting moments as we incinerated and devastated our way through the hordes of enemies. Phew. Loads of fun and I look forward to playing more in the future.

Lots of fun. I've played a few hours of both solo and co-op. Planning on smashing out a gaming sesh with a mate real soon.

I gave Xbox Cloud Streaming a try on PC, but Outriders is simply unplayable on it due to the excruciating input lag. I imagine I'll come back to it someday when I can play a non-streaming version, because the few hours I played seemed promising.

Giving this a try on xCloud streaming on Game Pass. The game actually seems pretty decent, but the struggle is real with all of the input lag on this service. I'm not particularly sensitive to lag, but this is borderline unplayable. Since trying to aim is such an absolute nightmare, I picked the Trickster class, hoping I can melee my …

Not understanding all the hate this game is getting. Combat feels fluid and fun; the looting process is rewarding; the gambit of abilities and classes to choose from is varied and satisfying. The customization is rather deep as well. Yes, it's a looter shooter, but what's wrong with that? I'm liking it :)

This is another loot-shooter, correct? I skipped the demo but now the full game is out on Gamepass and I wonder if it is worth checking out. Too many games, there are just too many games.

Update: oh wait, this is from the Bulletstorm devs. Hard pass.

Games are always fun like this style and I'm curious but i'm skeptical of this one due to my bar being lowered by the Painkiller series.
