Wario's run cycle

I adore this game's art style, which resembles anime or Saturday morning cartoons. The painterly backgrounds, expressive characters and hilarious animations were the main reasons I decided to revisit this 12 years after release.

The game itself is pretty good. There's a fair bit of variety (I loved the submarine levels) and the bosses are quite fun. It feels a little out of place on a home console: Its fairly short length, motion controls, and emphasis on replaying levels to find secrets and complete objectives would feel more at home on Switch or smartphones these days.

TL;DR: I like it more than most of the Wario Land games I've played so far, less than the original, and its presentation really sets it apart.
