Morcys's review of Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land

Yumia as a character is a pretty and likeable girl like most of the characters in this franchise, but the game in general is quite ish, the four worlds are not as flashy as the worlds of Ryza 3; this game is a tremendous downgrade from Ryza 3. I explored the world as much as I could and while doing so the ground swallowed me 7 times, something that never happened to me in the previous games and that's not to mention the lack of optimization this game has. Despite everything, I liked the game and if you are a fan of the Atelier series, of course you should play this game but always keeping in mind that Yumia is not Ryza.

I was holding out hope for the next Atelier, but this looks atrocious. Tired art direction and music, misplaced focus on melodrama, and some of the worst, most objectifying key art I've ever seen for a videogame. Sucks that a series I used to love has fully excised the gentle, community-building play that drew me into it, and replaced it with whatever this nonsense is.
