Yeah, this officially goes into my "worst games ever" list. Holy fucking hell is this atrociously unplayably bad, which is wild considering it's a sequel and should, by all accounts, be a step up. But aside from some visual polish, it's in every way a step DOWN.
There's collectibles in the game. One example is a book you're meant to pick up numerous copies of, I believe 24 in total. The game never tells you this is a collectible, nor does it give you a prompt to pick it up, leading you to believe it can't be interacted with. Furthermore, when you do finally pick one up, no counter appears on the screen to indicate it is in actuality a collectible. This is just bad fucking game design.
And that's just the tip of the iceberg. There's so, SO much more. For a game that relies heavily on combat far more than its predecessor, the combat is nigh unplayable, and mixed with the fact that the game is clunky and heavy to move in, makes it even worse. You can lose tons of time simply by not being near a hiding spot when the ink demon is coming, and the ink demon, presumably the most interesting aspect of this entire thing, is rarely seen and only is notified to you by text appearing on the screen stating "the ink demon is coming!" which is about as lazy as you can get.
This is the worst kind of bad game, the kind where you can see the possibility and the potential, and the developer just didn't fucking CARE. That's what makes its screw ups so frustrating to wrangle with, because underneath the mess there is something worthwhile, but for whatever reason, nobody gave enough of a shit to polish it to the point of enjoyability or even decency.
What a fucking tragedy.

Why is the audio on audio logs so quiet. Why are there no subtitles for anything. Why is everything so clunky when turning or fighting. You stole your entire gameplay mechanic from Bioshock, but you forgot that Bioshock is fluid. Is this even worth finishing?

Got this for 5 bucks and while it's CLEARLY leagues above the previous in terms of polish and design, actually feeling like a real game now, how did they still manage to make it as clunky and sluggish gameplay wise as the previous? That's just wild to me.
