There's a big problem with the Bionic Commando series: all of its 2D games suffer from poor controls. The games that rely so heavily on your precision in traversal are supposed to be perfect (or at least, close to) in this department. The first Rearmed game's appeal of being a very faithful remake of the NES title is gone and, despite adding a jump mechanic, this sequel doesn't have much personality. It is more of the same, but a bit worse. Exhausting is what I'd describe my experience with Rearmed 2. On the positive side, I'm glad they kept the neat approach to the lower difficulty setting from Rearmed 1 with lots of extra platforms added to help casual platformer players like me to be actually able to finish the game.

Played as part of xbox game pass free trial. Got as far as the first boss though found the gameplay to be too annoying to play as I am not fond of platformers. I particularly did not like the grappling hook feature and how it is a core mechanic to gameplay.
