I quite liked this game overall. In Chapter 3, I looked up some cheat codes (modifying the save file) that lowered the difficulty by letting me spawn as many resources as I wanted in game. I was mostly interested in all the other aspects of the game so this didn't feel like a big loss to me. The story was pretty good, though the script and voice acting weren't perfect. Music was good but got repetitive since I spent 26 hours listening to it. It was nice though having the music fade in and out and just let the SFX fill the silence at times. I thought the premise and setting for this game were excellent, and the game largely delivered on story and gameplay.
A friend of mine said it was kind of like getting to be Fred in the Expanse, in charge of Tycho station. I tend to agree.
It is said that this game is like Frostpunk but in space. I disagree, Frostpunk is better. I had a nice time on the first level but by the end of it I reached the maximum interest I had for the game and then it's all about sending probes, waiting for research, waiting for ressources to be gathered...
IDK, i played this one night for an hour or two. Didn't really get a feel for it or understand it but I wasn't really in the best mindset to play it. It was fun for a bit and had decent pacing. It also seemed kind of self-regulating then i got into some kind of uncorrectable resource management problem where i overspent one resource (power i think) that basically shut down the colony. All the air recycling systems died, then colonists died and revolted. ouch. No second chances in space!
Very different game from Mechanicus (Dev's other game) It would be quite tough to argue this one is better. It borrows one element (the talking head type dialogue stuff) but that's about it.
