This game is gorgeous. But also it's funny and loving and cute. I'm really liking it!!

I have a little dilemma. I am currently playing the Wii version of the game hooked up to my 4k TV upscaled from 480p. The graphics obviously don't look the greatest, but don't bother me too much. The motion controls are a little more of a pain. Motion controls don't usually bother me and I feel like the brushstrokes should be a perfect fit for the wiimote, but I keep struggling to do even the basic slash stroke without the game telling me I did it wrong and making me redo it. This is especially frustrating when the game has me redo four slashes all over again when I "fail" on the fourth slash. To really rub it in, they also make me listen to the bug character berate me for failing over and over. You can't skip that text! I sometimes have trouble performing the basic attack by waggling the wiimote.
I am 2 1/2 hours into the game right now and I am considering picking up a $20 copy of Okami HD for the PS4 and starting over. I am hesitating because I feel like I will be wasting money on my Wii copy of the game which I will likely never go back to once I upgrade to the HD version. I am also not thrilled about restarting, so I would rather make the decision ASAP before I get even further in.
Any thoughts? Is the HD version really worth it?

Part of the problem is that I'm just not good at action games. I'm also not good at drawing. But I did think the game went on a bit too long, as well. Still, I managed to get through the whole game, and I felt like it was a good experience overall. I'm glad I decided to give the game a second chance.

I started this and the intro seemed overly long and some of the characters very over the top. The "fake" voice acting was kind of grating too. I keep seeing rave reviews for it though and confirmed that the voicing is not a glitch or anything. So I still expect to pick this up again in the next few years …

What a long game, tooked me 45 hours to beat and i skipped some things but it was worth it. The unique art style with the progressive game concept make okami one of the best games for the PS2. Only flaws for me:
- combats tend to be confusing
- some NPCS are just horrible (Susano!!!!)

After putting 8 hours into this game, I had to call it quits. The story and the music are wonderful. The controls, however, are horrendous. I spent more time in those 8 hours trying to get the celestial brush strokes to be recognized than actually playing the game. Some people have better luck with it than others. I hope to …

Just made it past the first village. I'm not sure if I'm really digging the controls. I find them to be non-responsive at times during battle.

In an effort to clear out my Wii backlog I promptly left my copy of Okami on the shelf and downloaded the PS3 version. First impressions of the game are honestly a bit rough. The 'chatter' voices are obnoxious and the controls are a bit clunky. I'm sure it will get better though!
