Escape Academy puts you in the shoes of a young academic going through school learning how to be an escape artist. There's a loose story here that is used to put you in challenges or scenarios of escape rooms to move the plot forward. The first few of these escape rooms are relatively straightforward and easy, but they do pretty quickly ramp up in difficulty to where I was running really low on time for some of them. They do a really good job of making you think outside of the box for some of the challenges. At first you feel pretty inept and dumb, but once it clicks you will feel like a genius. This all takes place in the first person perspective with an almost coloring book aesthetic to it. I think my only real complaints about this game are how obscure a few of the puzzles are, as well as how short the game ultimately is. Each "escape room" has an average time limit of 20 minutes early, to closer to 40 minutes towards the end, with I believe the last 1 or 2 having 50 minutes. In total though there are only 13 "rooms", and due …

In total though there are only 13 "rooms", and due to the nature of the game there isn't really any replay value. There is a co-op mode where two players can run around the rooms which will make some of the challenges much easier (not needing to try and memorize solutions or taking physical notes as I did). Overall, definitely recommend this one, especially as it's on GamePass!

Played the solo campaign and really enjoyed the story puzzles. I'm interested in trying the online later and keeping an eye out for future updates. Not much to complain about while some puzzles stumped me i never felt the need for the hint button, with some thought i eventually figured it out. Not much to say about it since it's a simple game with great puzzle design.
Wow - I went in to this game with the lowest of low expectations. The whole concept of an escape room boarding school just sounded corny and cheap, like a weird mashup of Harry Potter and the IRL escape room trend. But no, this game is so well designed top to bottom, and way more interesting than Escape Simulator.
The puzzles are just great, they feel like they were designed by experienced professionals (supposedly the puzzle designers worked on real escape rooms? No clue). The art style is very solid as well, similar to Bomb Rush Cyberfunk with black outline shaders and a nice pop color pallette. The characters and story actually have some life, and the whole campus idea works really well.
So yeah, this game totally surprised me andI highly recommend for any escape room fans. Excited for the sequel - apparently it will be somewhat open world which sounds pretty neat.
Great rooms, a lot of diversity! I played with friends whith whom I often go to escape rooms and the thrill was pretty much the same!
The game is poorly optimized but that's not really an issue nfor this type of games for me
7/10 En vrai le jeu est sympa (assez rapide), a quand même pas mal de défauts, mais le faire avec Marie Erasmilf >>>>>> je l’aime.
The thing I enjoyed the most about this game was the fun (somewhat predictable) storyline. I had such a great time watching the plot unfold and the escape rooms were integrated into the story well.
I loved the art style that was used for when a character was directly talking to you. They were very colorful unique. The actual design and graphics of the rooms were really nice and felt pretty realistic as well.
There was one downside for me and I understand that the whole point of escape rooms is that they are timed. But I personally felt very stressed and worried because of the time limits for each stage. I would have loved an option to turn the timer off so I could have the freedom to fully explore everything in the room and take the puzzles at a pace that was more comfortable to my play style. But I do recognize that is a personal thing and that the timer is a big part of the escape room experience.
I still did enjoy my time with this game and think the way each escape room scenario was crafted was really impressive and well done. If you like …

I’ve always been fascinated with Escape Rooms, and I found this on GamePass, and this met so many of my desires. After I finished the story, I was left unsatisfied. Going back to almost get the “platinum trophy” of Escape Academy, I’ve realized how pretty bad this game was made. Sure, it’s got good gameplay, but the graphic design, dialogue, animation, storyline 😬… yeah. This is a game made in 2022, and this looks like it was made for the Wii. If this either gets a total makeover, or it gets a sequel PLUS the original with improved graphics, I’ll give it 5 stars.
Really fun playing co-op. 5 hours is a good length to have a good variety but without stretching things and having a lot of repetition.
Great little game. Fun puzzles, enjoyable story, difficulty pitched just right. Few little niggles: had to turn down controller sensitivity, then it was fine. Hint button (X) is easily pressed by accident, which lowers your score - should need confirmation. Can't see mission ratings in chapter select. Two achievements are bugged for some (get all B+ or A+ scores). Regardless really enjoyed it.

Really solid puzzle game to play with a friend. Some of the puzzles were frustrating, but I had a good time with this one and I'm interested in checking out other escape room games.
This is free in the Epic store today only:
I really enjoyed playing this so far. However, the level Tea N Tea has a massive bug that prevents you from finishing the level. The yellow cube doesnt open when you put in the correct code. Im playing on Game pass so maybe Steam versions are fine. So sadly I cant finish it and would need to buy it from Steam.
Nevermind, turns out I was just an idiot......but to be fair to myself, I felt like the game was not clear on how youre supposed to do it.
My girlfriend and I played a few rooms. It's pretty fun in co-op, although the split screen experience can be disorienting.
Really fun! Strange split-screen co-op though I only just noticed the ability to toggle the split-screen effect off. Not much in the way of replay value. Hoping to see more from the developers!
