Currently trying to get the 2 final wisps and planted the ancient seed that then boosts your power which is pretty neat. Loving this game. Definitely gonna 100%!

This is such a nice and refreshing direction to take this franchise. I am LOVING this so far, it feels so much like a natural expansion and extension of what made the original game so great, while still making itself different enough to stand on its own merits.

I get about 20-30 minutes of game time before it starts to stutter or freeze, which is detrimental to a game where you need to save a specific spots that can be far and few between during the early game.
I also think that Ori is not well designed for a small screen. I have a 5.5-inch Android phone that I use for xCloud and I could really use a bigger screen. I am looking forward to xCloud on PC streaming.

Recent started playing again. Bought on release and it's a very pretty game! Love the mechanics and how they improved upon the last one. Both games are super fun, this one so far is great. Trying to 100%... we'll see!

Managed to finish this game just as it hits my birthday ^.^ (and coincidentally, when Doom eternal and animal crossing releases)
Review forthcoming within the next hour

However now that I have played a bit more I find the combat more methodical with timing being very important. Enemies don't just get staggered indefinitely and eventually can get off an attack despite your repeated assault.
Ultimately the platforming is what I love about it. They have brought back a few of the previous movement mechanics but also added some new, extremely satisfying ones that let Ori move around in new fun ways.

The only thing I enjoyed about the first game was honestly the music. Everything else felt so hamfisted in with some clunky gameplay mechanics that generally amounted to puzzle platforming that felt infuriating at times. My least favorite aspect was how the game tried really hard to drive home its "Wow look at this beauty, this serenity" moments. It felt like the game was forcefully grabbing my hand and telling me to be sad at specific moments or marvel at the beauty of something and I couldn't cause I found it incredibly hard to feel attached to any character. This game however absolutely nails it with practically ever aspect. I'm genuinely astounded at how every single aspect is improved massively. The combat is fun, the puzzle platforming is really tight and satisfying with so many tools at your disposal. The music is still phenomenal. The storytelling is leagues beyond better than the first game as the world is better fleshed out and with clear goals in mind as opposed to just healing a tree because it's your "duty". The variety of characters and side quests, while few and not many, really allows you to at least know more about the world in a similar way Hollow Knight does, albeit not on the same level. The emotional high moments work well in tandem with its music and pacing of the game far better than the first game and I personally found myself sweating a teeny bit through my eyes. It's not that the story itself is anything particularly special, It's just that its such a massive improvement and it feels like the developers were able to actually learn from the first game and tell the story they were initially going for in this game. Anyway, fantastic game, highly recommend checking out or watching your favorite youtuber/streamer play it.

Just beat the game. Already better than the first game, and that game was fantastic. Everyone's saying how better the combat is and they're right. I didn't like the first one's combat, but this was a huge step up. Almost everything is improved. This is in my top 20, without a doubt. I'll write a review once I 100% it. …

And whatever you do, get the triple jump shard. It's worth it.
