Very underrated game for Racing game enthusiasts

I know what the problem is with this one... it shouldn't have been named Project Cars. If they tried to make a better Project Cars entry they failed miserably this is very true indeed. BUT just hear me out. I am playing with a Thrustmaster TX (T300 on Playstation) Racing Wheel and I must say I am having a great time. It has all the tracks you ever wanted to have and the car choices are abundant. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone that is going to expect a good sim racer, but to anyone else that is a person who can enjoy a good solid racing game with a lot of tracks (and I mean A LOT) and a great racing experience with the cars feeling planted and fun to throw around the corner, I would definitely recommend that group to try this game out and give it a chance, and chances are that you will be positively impressed by what spectacles it brings with all the (very) different types of cars and how it makes you feel when you are hurdeling along the complete nordschleiffe with your newly aquired Ferrari F40 and after numerous upgrades. You eventually have made your F40 via a race conversion into a class-A race car (Ferrari F40 LM) which truly feels like your own uniquely build race monster. And it also helps that it sounds like 50 lions that are falling into a volcano during a thunderstorm 😳 😀 So if you are looking for a good nice place to get your drive on. You just might have found it !! Have fun and enjoy responsibly MacSpacey Out !!

Really dissapointing

When I saw the trailer/gameplay that was released some months ago I was surprised, because it seems like the game was moving from 'simcade' to 'arcade'. But I decided to give it a chance because you never know.

This afternoon I started the game and the first thing you do is select your character. You can choose from racing drivers to ¿skaters? ¿people randomly dressed? Here I started suspecting that maybe this is not what I expected... but still haven't tried driving so... still not judging. After this, you choose your driving assists and start the tutorial.

Here is where you know what Project Cars 3 is... races are near Forza Horizon style. Cars are crashing you from every side. The AI is not prepared as a racing driver. If you take the position before a corner, the AI does not let you pass... so you end using the other car to turn. The AI does the same with you. Really disappointing. Moreover, I think that the car was behaving... easy. I think they made driving more accessible.

After this really bad experience, you go to the menu. You have your garage, you can modify your cars, and start street …

You have your garage, you can modify your cars, and start street racing... Ok, last chance.

I started a hot lap event with an Honda Civic Type R, but I couldn't finish the event because the game is unplayable with VR headset. The game freezes at different points and when it unfreezes you are crashed into a wall. (Don't ask why didn't freeze at the tutorial... I don't know either). After several tries, I am done. Time to close the game and uninstall.

Despite my experience, I am quite sure that it is not a bad game. The problem here is you expect a new Project Cars. And it is not. It is a Project Cars Horizon if you want (Forza Horizon is still far better). So I understand that people are angry about this.

On the other side, I can understand the decision of the company to move the game closer to an arcade. 'Simcade' has no future. People are polarizing: arcade or simulation. 'Simcade' is losing players game after game. So they must choose between moving to simulation or this. Simulation is a really hard market where drivers hardly move from what they have. So arcade was the logical option.

By the way, when I say that this game is an arcade I mean... it is closer to an arcade than it was before. But not at the same level as a Need for Speed (for example). To make a comparison, I would put Project Cars 2 into the same box as Forza Motorsport (or Gran Turismo), and Project Cars 3 into the Forza Horizon box.

Again, I am quite sure that it is not a bad game... It is just another game, not a new Project Cars. So, I think I will give it a chance (as an arcade driving game) when they fix it because it is not playable. Meanwhile, is a 0/10 game from my opinion.

A mostly enjoyable game. But the progression is terrible. REQUIRING you to get 1-3 stars on hot lap challenges in order to progress. It's just not fun after a while. Also, the incredible jump in price from Class D to Class C cars in the campaign also doesn't help the progression either. Overall, the actual racing is fine, if a bit simplistic. Also, some of the A.I. in the game could use some more tweaking. Either being hyper aggressive or hyper passive.
