So me and my friend just mutilated a cute elephant and then threw her off the cliff just to make a little girl cry, which is a more heinous act than scar committed in the lion king

This game has so many interesting mechanics and levels. It was a pleasure to play with the various abilities and explore the world and its puzzles. Truly delightful. The only problem I had were the characters. Both main heroes were annoying but they had nothing on the book-guide, Dr. Hakim. I understand that this is not a story-based game but …

I understand that this is not a story-based game but the writing was cringe-worthy at best. Still a great coop game for two.

I think I'm throwing in the towel on this one, I can't stand the obnoxiously boring, predictable story and both my buddy and I agree that the majority of the game play has been underwhelming. It tries to do too much and it all has the depth of a puddle. What's really disappointing is that we actually really loved A …

I dunno, may come back to this in a few months

I was going to play this with my wife, but she got dizzy from the camera and had to stop. The same happened to us with Hazelight previous game: A way out. It seems that we're gonna have to go back to 2D and isometric games. (What's weird is that she plays New Pokémon Snap for hours without issues, …

Fortunately, my sister wanted to play it too so I got a new partner to "save" the protagonists relationship.

So is this just like the coolest platformer-type game and co-op title ever or what? Played all afternoon through 3 areas of increasing complexity and this thing really goes some places. It Takes Two won GOTY. I wanna see Josef Fares rant about Take Two now, please. Edit: he didn't :(

I haven't played It Takes Two, but if I hadn't voted for Metroid Dread already, I would have voted for It Takes Two in every category just to spite Take-Two just to hear what Josef Fares has to say about Take Two's rampant copyright claims and takedowns through an awards show.

It made me laugh , made me tear up , has a great story and pacing that always has you swapping to new worlfs and mechanics way before you get bored of any of them.

A must play with your significant other.

First impressions after a couple of hours are mixed. Movement's fun and puzzles are interesting enough. The split-screen makes it hard to scan areas, but devs corrected that by making levels relatively linear and easy to follow.

First impressions after a couple of hours are mixed. Movement's fun and puzzles are interesting enough. The split-screen makes it hard to scan areas, but devs corrected that by making levels relatively linear and easy to follow.
The main issue is with tone. The story is of a bickering, divorcing couple that are forced to work together to save their lives by being turn into wooden dolls by a spell. Accompanying them is an anthropomorphised copy of "The book of love" which talks with a ridiculous Mexican accent. When I saw the first cutscene I thought the game was going to do the smart thing and lampshade that such premise is incredibly childish, but as far as I've seen in the rest of the game and reviews, this is not the case.
Instead, the bulk of the game seems to be leading the characters into the realisation that they can work together and they should stay married.
On top of that, the imagery is a weird mix of cutesy Toy Story-like magic and grotesque gore. At one time we're zipping through vacuum tubes in a fun way, and suddenly we are literally gouging the eyes of a living vacuum cleaner in a boss-fight.

I'd be all in for the cynical take on childish fantasies, but you can't at the same time validate a hopeful (and naive) message without the clash of tones leaving a sour taste in my mouth.
