The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me (2022)

I just realized that I never even finished Devil In Me. I plan on doing so eventually but it's sad to think that I loved this anthology and anticipated every entry until I just... didn't anymore. Here's my ranking and a few thoughts about every game:

1. Man of Medan

• Probably a controversial take but yes, I love this one the most. I have very fond memories of being hyped and playing it on Halloween. The B-movie style felt fresh for me because up until that point I rarely even played horror games. Plus, I've always been very fascinated by cases like the Ourang Medan so I loved the setting.

1. Little Hope

• This is a bit of a weird one because it is so bad that it's good. I enjoyed the heck out of playing this with all its laughably stereotypical and irrational characters. The story wasn't mindblowing but it kept me interested and I liked the twist.

1. House of Ashes

• The monster design is cool (Although, I'm pretty sure they took inspiration from a UK TV series called Primeval. Oh how I love that series <3). I don't have that much more to say about this. I just prefer supernatural and psychological aspects to actual monsters or serial killers. The gameplay stayed pretty much the same to previous entries and the setting was interesting so I still enjoyed playing it.

1. The Devil In Me

• The moment I saw the teaser for this game, I immediately said "Oh, I'm not gonna like this one...". The setting, the theme, none of it really speaks to me. But since I love this anthology I still wanted to play it. Well... I'm about halfway through and bored out of my mind because so far nothing really happened. I have been struggling for weeks to pick it back up again. I don't wanna say it's a bad game though because I don't actually know if it's generally boring or if that's just me.

I would love to hear some of your opinions, if any of you have played the games.

Ok, last time I said the bugs in the game made everything funnier, but I take that back. We were doing the run where everyone was going to die in the end and just when we only had m i n u t e s left, the game just broke and we couldn't continue. It just got stuck on the same part every.damm.time.

Probably has to do with this OTHER fact where Charlie apparently died, but my friend somehow had him alive on his part of the game and I didn't. Anyways, its just broken, thank god it didn't affect our first run
