My wife played this once or twice, but despite having my VR headset for over 4 years, I never got around to it. And now it's no longer possible to create an account. Ah, well.

After only yesterday reading about Meta's careless approach to shutting down its metaverse services (see Dr. Ruth Diaz's article on Good VR), it's encouraging to see Rec Room trying to do better (the quotation to follow is from their blog):

We're making this decision now, while we still have the ability to wind things down thoughtfully and do right by the people who built this with us.

We just got an Oculus Quest so I decided to try out Rec Room as my first game. I made friends with a couple people almost immediately who helped understand some of the settings and then bought me an outfit. So far, pretty fun!
