Frustrating, But Oddly Addicting, Absurd Action Game
See my Status Update for more detail, I played this in 2 play sessions, can't believe it took me this long... and can't believe I used this much of my life playing this frustrating game that nonetheless hooked me... haha

Look: 9/10
Probly the most striking part. Such a cute setting, with colors that match the vibe, and a cute little "town" feel to "explore" (despite its obvious limitations). Once I reached my goal, I decided to screenshot some of the screens to show you what I mean about the look (this is the ZX Spectrum version)

Ok ok you get the picture lol
Sound: 6/10 Functional at best, but functional indeed
Play: 7/10 There's no way that was only 10 worms/sticks... the descriptions online don't seem accurate. From what I played, it seemed like you collect 15ish worms to feed your chicks, by horizontally scrolling through beautiful, cutesy screens avoiding enemies and birds that will still your worms. Sometimes it was hard to tell what obstacles you could fly through/walk through and which you couldn't. Pro tip: you can't land on the ground while carrying a worm, but if you can juuuuust barely make it back to the nest, you can stand on the nest to regain Energy. Phew! In the end, for all intensive purposes, the gameplay and controls are just plain frustrating. Yet here I am: having spent almost 2 hours and having a drive to finish it the next day. So that says something heh...
Feel: 8/10
And at last, I did it! It definitely felt rewarding (tho flabbergasted how that was only Level 1.... of 10....)
The Look really boosts this a lot, because if it weren't for the Look, I probly would have given up on the frustrating gameplay. I can't deny what wound up happening though!
Attachment: 8/10 Like I mentioned above, it says something that I pushed through the frustrating gameplay and played the next day to achieve my goal. And tho the 10 levels is flabbergasting and overwhelming to me, it is that classic speccy/c64 trait that means it could have been very very replayable as you try to reach that epic goal of all 10 levels. I mean my goodness, the 2nd level was already so overwhelming from the first screen, though I decided to explore a bit just to get screenshots for the Look section (no way I was about to try to get all "10"--I swear it's more--worms/sticks). The fact I didn't have a drive to complete the 2nd level is, indeed, a negative, but I don't know (plus the fact it's just the same level, with more monsters: that classic early game "re-cycling" I often bemoan but understand why it had to happen). I can't really hold it against the game: if I were in the speccy era, and didn't easily emulate my next game then next game then next game, I probly would dwell on this despite the frustrations. As a modern, emulator-based gamer though, time to move on! And probly not look back--tho I wont forget! Haha.
Completion: Through Level 1.... Yep Playtime: ~ 2 hours
