Race The Sun is a high-speed game that uses simple controls and is set in a procedurally generated world. The goal is to get the highest possible score by racing into the sunset, avoiding obstacles and enemies, and collecting speed boosts and other powerups to help you along the way. You fly a solar-powered craft, and the game ends at sundown, if you can make it that far!

This is one of my favorite indie games. Race The Sun is a fun little "solar powered" flyer. You are trying to get through each level without crashing and finish before the sun sets and you run out of power. Depending on the level that you load up, you can just fly around and enjoy the scenery or really test your skills against a variety of landscapes (I particularly enjoy Maria's Sonnet, which is a rather difficult DLC that you can add on which has sort of a steampunk feel where you fly through a million gears...and curse a lot.) The music is highly repetitive, but I like it, and if you play the main game, you get some interesting quotes on the loading screen after each death (from philosophy to the Bible to movie quotes). It is slightly less user friendly since the VR update, but I think that will even out in the next update or two.

A well executed title

I really wasn't expecting much from an endless runner type of game, but Race the Sun is so well executed that it makes it thoroughly addictive. After hitting the initial milestones you would expect it to wear thin, but then I discovered how relaxing it is to play while listening to some Air or Boards of Canada through headphones. In …

In fact I'm pretty sure this game is my new relaxation aid!
