Oh my god this game is everything I’ve been looking for. Scouring through tedious, monotonous, cookie cutter HOPA games finally pays off with Infected: The Twin Vaccine.
You are dropped into a small rural town where an outbreak has occurred, originating from twin sisters - one of whom is alive, missing, and quite possibly holds the answers to crafting a vaccine.
The game utilizes FMV for the characters, which I am a total sucker for. The atmosphere and environment is beautiful and rustic, with a collage-like art style. The gameplay is pretty much perfect as well, with a semi-open design, backtracking, interesting inventory puzzles, and the hidden object mini games are interactive and sequential (similar to all the five-BN games).
This is just everything I love about the genre, in both the art and atmosphere as well as the gameplay. It reminds me a lot of Fright (by Lesta), which has a similar FMV and rustic art style.
Absolute top tier and blows past my usual star limitation for the genre - this is a 5/5.
