This is a fun game for a couple of hours. It still feels good to control, and not being able to reverse is compensated for by letting you bounce off walls like a bumper car. It has a couple of major flaws - there are only really 3 tracks. There are slight variations on these to increase difficulty, as well as reversed tracks, but overall there is not much variety. Also, if you touch another car while racing, it seems to rocket them forwards while slowing you down. This can be very frustrating on the harder difficulties, especially since I played in first-person, making it difficult to judge the distance between myself and others.
Despite this, I can still see myself booting this up on occasion to zip through some of the easier races.
Pretty good. This is my second-favorite of the console generation, after R4 on the PS1.
BIggest bummer about all these games is that you have to finish in first to continue the Grand Prix mode, or unlock other tracks. I wish it had a point system for the championship, like most other games, and would just let you pick whichever tracks to race on you want.
