So far I'm loving this. The characters are very cute and charming. I love how the matches are so short, you can play it instead of wasting time on Instagram. I love how the playerbase are obviously gen alpha children so there's no "make me a sandwich" toxicity you see in other games of this kind like League of Legends. Children are always happy when they hear I play Brawl Stars. Barley is the cutest character
I play this game more than I care to admit but it is one of the better mobile games out there. It’s fast paced, frequently updated, graphically vibrant, and filled with a unique and fun cast of brawlers to collect. The gameplay is enjoyable but in my experience difficult to master. It’s genuinely challenging at times. If you just want to kill some time and a quick and fun fighting game with a surplus of different modes, Brawl Stars is a game I would recommend. The variety of Brawlers is what probably makes the game most intriguing. Each brawler demands an entirely new skill set and method of playing. This makes developing one’s own personal strategy a constant and consuming process of success and failure, but also entertainment.
The new hypercharge unleashed challenge is one of the worst things I have ever played in my life. The combination of brawlers and maps available in the mode literally make no sense and show the dev's complete lack of understanding how their own game works. If 3 of the 6 available brawlers (and you don't get to pick which one you get) are close-ranged, why would you also make a brawler that completely counters close-ranged brawlers available, and why would one of the maps in the rotation be a map for snipers? Furthermore, you can't even play the challenge with friends despite the fact that the brawler and stages are completely random and there is no way to pre-plan for it. Playing with friends would at least eliminate the issue of bad randoms, but since you can't play with friends, you get stuck with the most unreliable and toxic players. The sheer incompetence that went into designing this challenge is astounding.
Recently, it's become a miracle for Supercell to release a new brawler and NOT have them be horribly broken. While they do get nerfed within a month or so, that's still plenty of time for toxic players to abuse them
