Another game I would love to go back to, Street Figher 6 was an uncharacteristic purchase by me as somebody who doesn't typically play fighting games. I had an absolute blast learning the game in real time with a good friend. I'm sure I could get totally engrossed in the fighting genre with SF6 as the gateway.

Unwishlisted. I'm that weird dude that plays vs AI only and I just realized that in the demo, lvl 1-6 bots are too easy and lvl 7-8 bots are too strong to be fun.

My initial impression of the game turns out to be wrong. It’s quite pretty. Still don’t really do it justice and watching it in motion is a pleasure. I think I’ll have to pick it up at some point.

Sorry for hyping myself up for what is probably not even an achievement but I'm just really excited and proud and had to share somewhere. Kimberly managed to carry me all the way into Plat this morning! SF6 is the most fun I've had with a fighting game since Guilty Gear Strive actually had a stable playerbase (R.I.P.). Matches come fast and frantic, I don't think I've ever waited more than 10 seconds, and the connection has been great in all but 1 of my 300+ matches. And with only 2 rage quits; good job SF community! Kimberly is such a fun character, all her different approach options, and different combo routes for either corner carry, or setup make each different matchup so much fun to learn. Even if Honda and Guile keep kicking my cans. Anybody who has ever thought about maybe getting into fighting games but has felt out of their depth I think SF6 is a great first one. Between modern controls, (although I'd recommend trying to learn classic) a bevy of great tutorials and right now a massive playerbase of similarly skilled players, this is the right time to maybe discover the magic of fighting games for yourself. enter image description here

Managed to beat the World Tour mode yesterday. It was fine. It starts out really fun and addicting but gets kinda tedious and hard right at the end. Still a very nice addition to the game. It's basically a really thorough and nicely thought-out tutorial to the game & its mechanics, characters and "lore". They also made the characters (mostly) really likeable and polite. None of that cocky dickheadish bragging that SF2 characters had after each match.

During my playthrough, I mainly liked E. Honda's, Ken's and Marisa's styles so next step is to learn them in more detail and dive into the Battle Hub! After a quick glance, the online mode seems to be nicely detailed too. I hope the skill level isn't too punishing online though.

First major SF6 tournament is wrapping up today and there's already been some great matches! Rooting for Mena RD to take the whole thing.

The new control scheme is fantastic! It's like driving an automatic car, with no complicated inputs like ↓↘→+🤜🏾💥 for Hadouken. Just press Y and you're done. Now you can focus on tactics and have more fun!

The game is quite expensive in my country, costing as much as six other games. It's disappointing that Capcom has set such high regional prices for Ukraine.

Fortunately, there's a demo available. Although it only allows for two playable characters, I was able to get a taste of SF6, and it's amazing. I'll just have to wait a few years for the price to drop.

Luke's forearms are unsettling. The proportions are so off that they look like fake muscles from synthol injections.

They definitely lowered the barrier to entry with the new control options, some great character-specific tutorials, and the big single-player mode. It’s a really fantastic-feeling fighting game and has some nice presentation flourishes and visual designs and stuff. I’ve never really played much Street Fighter outside a few sessions here and there, but pretty quickly I found my main character and have had a blast playing online. I hit a ceiling with my rank progression and definitely have some work to do when I come back to the game, but I think this particular entry will make that improvement process pretty enjoyable and relatively approachable.

I guess it's basically like walking around and fighting in the city of a Yakuza game, but with a fighting game moveset rather than a brawler. And actually, it sounds like SF6 even has a new simplified control scheme available for those who just want to mess around (like me) rather than engage with the competitive scene to any degree. Seems Capcom's doing a great job with their big franchises these past few years.

I am blown away that the single-player mode of this game is basically a full-fledged Yakuza game. Capcom is on a truly impressive roll these days. Can they send over some consultants to other large publishers that put out like one or two mediocrities a year plz? thx

Looks like this is getting great reviews, but I don't think I'll ever come around to the aesthetic.

The Drive Gauge mechanic seems to encourage flexibility and tactical play in a way I've never seen in the genre, and I really dig Manon's Olympic medal system where her throws become progressively more terrifying over the course of the match. I'm excited to bust out my ancient hitbox and give SF6 a shot!

I went from disliking this game’s cover image to liking it very quickly. Look how happy he is to street fight. I’m inspired to go outside and try it myself now.

Kimberly got announced finally and she looks incredible! Killer outfit, fun personality, really expressive keyframes, an Izuna Drop, just excellent on every conceivable level.

Also Juri got shown off, and she looks good too! Almost enough good news to distract me from Idom's heartbreaker of a loss.

Hopefully they drop a reveal trailer for Kimberly at Comic-Con this weekend! Coolest-looking character SF has had in ages.
