NBA 2K24 is an absolute triumph in the world of basketball gaming. As a dedicated fan of the series, I am thrilled to say that this installment raises the bar and delivers an unparalleled basketball gaming experience. The attention to detail in NBA 2K24 is mind-blowing. From player animations to arena atmospheres, every aspect of the game feels incredibly realistic. It's like watching an actual NBA game on your screen. The visual fidelity and player models are exceptional.
NBA 2K24 is a slam dunk of a game. It offers an authentic basketball experience with stunning visuals, deep gameplay, and an array of engaging modes. Whether you're a hardcore basketball fan or a casual gamer, this installment in the NBA 2K series is a must-have. It exemplifies excellence in sports gaming and is sure to keep fans entertained for countless hours.
This is simultaneously the best 2K and the worst one. Gameplay is solid, especially for solo MyCareer. The GOAT skills make it so that you don't have to feel miserable until you increase your stats like in previous years. I'm a fan of the story and how you actually get thrown in as a starter to coincide with the backstory of you being a #1 prospect. Previous years would've made you slowly work your way into the starting line-up. The video clips of owners, media personnel, and players is integrated in a believable way with how people engage with sports discussion in 2023. Now for the bad. 2K seems extra greedy this year. It takes way more VC to increase your stats in MyCareer. They also got rid of the auction house in MyTeam, meaning there's less ways to get more cards. They really want players to spend money on buying packs directly from them rather than using in game currency to get cards from other players.
Every year, the latest edition of NBA 2K, Madden, FIFA, etc. comes out and every year, the Steam reviews are "Mostly Negative" with 1000s of reviews. As somebody who enjoys sports games, I own Madden 22, FIFA 22, and two years of NBA 2k only because they added the WNBA to the year after the first one I purchased. I can't imagine justifying dropping $70 if the next year's version doesn't offer a substantial improvement. Why do people keep buying every year's edition of these things if they're always bad? These games are always ranked among the top sellers every year. I just don't get it.
