Beat using a walkthrough on slow motion, barely. I could tell the game was bad right away. The mech was awkward to control, often not turning around while shooting. The gun could be aimed straight up, up diagonal and completely useless down right in front of the feet. It was not bad enough that the gun rotation took time to move between each angle, but many enemies were at angles the gun could not even reach. In particular, the many ground vehicles that were too low to be hit by the standard horizontal shot. The only way to hit them was to jump closer until landing on top of them. Ever hear about shooting forward while crouching? The mech was not designed at all to shoot enemies and it really felt like the only reason to use it at all was its extreme durability. The guy could get out to pick up items and go into narrow places, and this was needed to find the key for each exit. Controlling the guy was much better but it was still not great. He even did that stupid shooting in front of his foot when pressing down. There were tiny creatures that he could not hit in the 1st level but they might not have been enemies. The guy died quickly so it was best to not be outside the mech for long. The mech had bombs that more or less cleared the screen and were required to kill certain enemies. There were alternate weapons to find but they all sucked. The walkthrough said to ignore them. I tried out the laser and rotating shot, and yes they were no better than the default gun with the same retarded limited angles. Why ever bother using a slightly stronger weapon if you can't hit anything? They also limited hp. The rotating shot constantly shot in a circle pattern but cost hp to use, so much that it would be far safer to run past while tanking hits. I did not try the last rocket weapon. It was not fun to navigate these levels while struggling to actually hit the infinite enemies. I was going to give this game 5/10, until I played the shocking travesty that was the final stage. No more mech, just the guy zoomed in with a shitty thruster for zero G and no longer able to shoot straight up for some reason. Yet he still had the rotational aiming delay of the mech, and incredibly slow and awkward movements. The walls were full of guns and launchers that were the exact same color as the walls without any animation, and there were infinitely respawning melee enemies that ignored the guy's hp to kill in 1 hit. Then on top of that this level was a confusing maze with no map. This was some of the worst gameplay I have ever played. It felt more random than skill based whether the guy would actually hit what I wanted him to or if he would just bounce around and die. I spent all my lives following the route in the walkthrough not even sure if I was going the right way. If it was the wrong way I was not starting this trash level over again. But I did barely make it to the end and win on 1 hit from game over since the "boss" was pathetic.

While this game functioned it completely missed the assignment of being a fun shooter. Tight movement and accurate skill based shooting are the core of what makes a shooter fun, yet this game failed at both.

3.5/10
