Super repetive sidescroller dino crisis...

Well, my initial review was very positive, but after getting fairly deep into the game (judging by my achievements possibly the deepest of anyone)... it got pretty old.

At first, I was really enjoying it. It's a survival horror sidescroller, taking after Dino Crisis with a dinosaur theme. There was some jank for sure, but the underlying level design and atmosphere and gameplay was fun and addicting, despite some clunkiness. Mind you, I played on controller which felt pretty horrible with the combat (which is the absolute main focus of the game). Aiming was super unreliable, and avoiding attacks felt so retro and clunky...

To name some of the jank: the main walk cycle is laughably unrealistic, the map is just a still image and doesn't show your location or mark anything dynamically, and there's plenty of small UI bugs - nothing too bad.

So ya, combat is absolutely the main focus and as I said - it didn't feel good.

Some may like it, it was alright for a bit, but I just slowly stopped wanting to return and finish it. At about 14 hours I think I was a little over halfway so definitely good length for the price, but the combat, exploration, and little jankiness just soured for me.
