Night of the Scissors - the first game by Tomás Esconjaureguy. His follow up Cannibal Abduction (which I am about to replay and review) was pretty amazing, and his newly released “The Fear Business” is out so I decided to finally finish his first game. It is a PSX style escape the warehouse game with a maniac with scissors hunting you down.

The gameplay is simple - find an item, use an item, and hide from the killer. But the execution is super unsettling, especially in the sound department. When the killer spots you, you will have a mini meltdown as your senses are overloaded with harsh noise, red, and otherworldly sounds.

Nothing here is super complicated, but it sets the tone for the developer and I think it’s a great little 30 minute horror experience. Perhaps I only appreciate this game knowing the potential of the developer, but I do recommend it if you enjoy simple PSX style horror games.
