Farming Simulator 22 manages to scratch the itch of any hardcore simulator fan looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life for some time in an idyllic rural setting where they can raise livestock and produce. The mechanics can be a little convoluted for new players, but online multiplayer and a robust modding community can help anybody become an experienced farmhand.

I could never get into the annual release on these games. As soon as you buy it, 12 months later there's a whole new roster of farmers and your game is so-last-year...
In the year of disappointing game releases for me, consider this the decorative frosting to that.
I have many hours in all the games since 2011, the first one I played. It was such a good chill unwind game. This new one is a big let down for me and here is why for those that have not played the series.
In 2011, they added multiplayer. People could run a farm together and added a bunch of real brands to the equipment.
In 2013, they built on 2011 and added new maps/equipment. They also cleaned up a bunch of bugs and multiplayer ran very smooth; including better server set-up.
In 2015, they added forestry. Which was a ton of fun with a group and a huge jump in content.
In 2017 they added realistic ways to increase crop yield and the missions system. It was a weak version, but did add much to play for people that wanted to have the option for more realistic farming.
In 2019 they had a big graphics upgrade and new animals. As well as adding John Deere; which was huge for the series. Since in USA it is the main stay for farming. They …

I used to have respect for Giants Software, they were going against the flow and making a game they were passionate about; at least that's what I thought. I feel like this new version is just a "we need to release something". Considering this entire game wouldn't even be a full expansion pack for the pervious games.
