This game was the one that started the formula that was used in the first Yu-Gi-Oh games: defeat each duelist five times to unlock the next duelist arc. This Yu-Gi-Oh title is the one with the least amount of cards, having only 365 cards (like the days of the year) after defeating the fifteen different duelists five times, you will unlock the final boss, Yami Yugi. Despite being the first Duel Monsters game, it has the most iconic cards such as Exodia, Blue eyes and Dark Magician; although the art of the cards is different due to the limitations of the console.
