Scriptwelder is a dev I’ve been a fan of since I was in middle school. His early flash point and click games were so well designed and fun to work through. I played 4 Days many years ago when it came out, but I never wrote a proper review and so decided to replay it recently.
It’s just so well done and so unique. The whole “reverse escape room” concept was great in the original trilogy this game is based on, and it’s even more unique here with the longer narrative and timeshare system. You have to survive plague-like threats each day, and use your time wisely to fortify your home and insulate yourself from the threat.
The puzzles are fun. The open-ended branching path design is unique and clever. The whole sci-fi narrative is interesting and it’s all just done so well. I am soooo excited for the upcoming Deep Sleep game (also based off his flash game trilogy), and this was a great reminder of how exceptional this developer is.
