If you create a character in offline mode, you are unable to switch to online mode and vice versa. Online mode has more lag and is a bit buggy but I expect this to be cleared up soon. This has the elements of a hack-n-slash like D3 but also more RPG and questing. The bosses have mechanics that matter at a lower level which I haven’t experienced where this mattered in other previous hack-n-slashes, you could just stand and kill, this game requires actual thought at times, and I like that.
The skill trees and passives have a lot, but this lets you be more creative with your character, or you can follow a guide, whichever. This game is a lot of fun, I enjoy playing it by myself and sometimes with friends.

I get bored with my characters abilities about 2/3 of the way through each time and the story just isn't interesting enough to motivate me to push through. It also doesn't help that respeccing is incredibly punitive when it comes to your primary abilities, and it's really not clear what will work well and what won't.
Dropping for now. I may check if there's some large changes, otherwise I think I'll just move on to other ARPGs when I'm in the mood to play one.

I've been playing Last Epoch off and on for the last month or so now. It's still in early access, but there's more than enough content available and polish to make the game worth the price if you like Diablo-style ARPGs. It's shaping up to be one of my favorites in the genre.
