Silly, Interesting Game That Was Reviewed Too Harshly, But Is Bogged Down By The Microphone Aspect
This review is for the Nintendo Entertainment System version

Preliminary: As annoying as the music and sound effects were, and the horrible reviews of this, the Look was oddly alluring; the absurd premise where I blackout at a karaoke bar and now am divorcing my wife (who for some reason, along with my kids, are constantly punching me lol... I don't blame the guy), and my naive Western knowledge of Takeshi through MXC as a kid (repurposed footage from Takeshi's show), annnnnd with a guide available on StrategyWiki.... yeaaaa I suppose I will give this an earnest try.

Look: 8/10 I love the rundown nature of the city. The karaoke bar was cute too enter image description here

Sound: 7/10 As annoying as most of it was, I did like the karaoke bar 4 tracks lol. Even after deciding to quit the game there, I listened through all the tracks :-p

Play: 7/10 I like that it's essentially a comedic Adventure game... the action elements were a bit frustrating. Like, why is everyone attacking me lol. And it's really hard to avoid being hit at least once no matter whether you strategically jump over the guys or try to fight back. Lots of cute adventure game touches to this though, I don't know …

Play: 7/10 I like that it's essentially a comedic Adventure game... the action elements were a bit frustrating. Like, why is everyone attacking me lol. And it's really hard to avoid being hit at least once no matter whether you strategically jump over the guys or try to fight back. Lots of cute adventure game touches to this though, I don't know why people loathed it so much. Like squatting down to find your nest egg in the work office lol (pro-tip: get divorced first)

Feel: 7/10 If only the sound were better, this really could be a great comedy-driven adventure game. Well, as long as you use cheats. If only it was programmed with more forgiving gameplay and more health available, albeit still with the meta humor about the state of the game ha. I love the citizens randomly jumping up. And is this one of the first games where you can just beat up any citizen you come across a la GTA regardless of whether they fight back? lol

I'm super glad they included Enka music. Not so glad it required a speech function tho.

Attachment: 7/10 Darn, I was having fun with this. But yea the inclusion of the 2nd controller microphone part really wound up bogging it down. I couldn't get any compliments from the karaoke bar people lol, even once I figured out how to do the microphone. Too bad too because it seemed the adventure elements became bigger once you leave Japan. Definitely worth playtesting despite the bad reviews, but likely best to have an Infinite Hearts cheat, and to know more about the NES microphone than me, and to plan to just goof around not take it seriously. Anyway, despite not finishing it and wanting to give this a 6 for attachment at first, the reality is, I secretly wanna figure out how to get past that music part so I can see the more adventurous parts. Silly game with some clever ideas that's underrated, but certainly not great.

Completion: Divorced my wife and quit my job, was trying to start the quarrel at the karaoke bar Playtime: ~35 mins

I played this game out of sheer curiosity.

I have never seen so much devotion into making an impossible horrid game.
