Read moreI never played the Genesis game as a kid, but this remake fixes a lot of the jank by zooming out with a widescreen experience, adding a double jump, and a level select feature to go back and get collectables you may have missed. This was definitely trying to be both Sonic and Mega Man, and didn't really succeed at either, but it's still perfectly fine. If you want something closer to the original, there's Ultimate Ninja Mode and if you just want the original, you can play the original game in the Options menu.
