The decision was made by parent company Embracer after the sprawling conglomerate announced cuts earlier this year following the loss of $2 billion in funding that was reportedly supposed to come from the controversial Saudi Arabia Public Invesetment Fund

I thought Forspoken dialogue was cringe. This is worse. Going Epic exclusive means it's dead once it gets to Steam, like every other exclusives. May that's why the developers did it, they know their game.

Genuinely thought I'd see Black Friday deals on the standard edition for this game, but given those sales seem to have already started (for some reason) and the only edition on sale is the platinum edition (full of junk I don't need) for more than the cost of the base edition, I guess I'm sitting this one out longer.

I was noticing that I hadn't encountered any bug and was thinking of posting a status here along those lines and then i suddenly wasn't able to leave the character customisation page and had to Alt+F4 away from the game.

So disappointing to read this (from IGN):
I thought that the opportunity to open up a Cobra Kai-inspired karate dojo would be worth the grind required to raise the $1.6 million asking price, but my reward for doing so was a mere handful of wonky beat ‘em up sections that handled like the yuckiest form of Yakuza’s street fights. Then when I finally unlocked the late-game heist missions, I was crushed to find out that you don’t get to perform the actual robberies. Instead, you complete the setup phase by taking surveillance photos of security cameras and entrances at the target facility, only to be forced to wait in the car while the rest of your gang straps on the ex-Presidents masks and goes inside to commit the crime. It’s like Point Break minus the whole entire point, and although I was the designated getaway driver it honestly felt like I was the one being robbed.

This game got so many poor reviews even from outlets that have been shilling for it like IGN (who rated it 6/10) that I'm going to return my copy without opening it. It apparently suffers from some of the same issues as Agents of Mayhem did as it is repetitive with the side missions.

So far... its fine. Just fine. I like the characters, the shooting and driving feel good. But it doesn't do absolutely anything new. Just another open world game.
Lots of bugs tho.

Reviews aren't looking super hot for this one (mixed at best). While I'm not surprised, hearing multiple reviewers specifically call it out as unmemorable and very buggy is a bummer. The series definitely needed a reboot / reset if it was ever going to continue after Saints Row IV and Gat out of Hell, but an unpolished, blander version …

Sounds like there is still fun to be had here, with some reviewers that didn't see a lot of bugs having fun, but I'm proooobably skipping it for now...
