i mean this in the most non-derogatory way, but this game is the most wb/cw-teen-drama-coded game i have ever played. there's a whole host of mystical things that take place and two characters run into each other and the first thing they say is "god i've missed you" when in literally any other context they'd say "what the hell are you doing here??" there's a real sense of human relationships taking precedence over all other narrative details which i think of as being a hallmark of these types of shows and it's extremely novel encountering that in a video game / frpg.

I reached the boss of the new area added in the free update, Osquio

It has hundreds of millions of health points. It took me more than 30 minutes, but I was able to defeat him...

... and then the phase 2 started.

I turned off the console.

I love this game but this is too much. Too damn much.

What an experience. One of my favourite games I've played this year - no wait, it probably was my favourite game this year despite playing quite a few day one releases (even though they're all quite different). One of those games you just have to play to truly grasp and understand. It'll go down as a classic for sure.

Last area and time to beat! Beautiful game, despite some big flaws like no minimap, and terrible fast travel system, which really isn't even one. It is very hard to remember where you left certain superbosses, etc.

Time for session 6 and it was nominated for 12 categories, wow! Not my game of the year (Donkey Kong Bananza with GoTY category nomination is), but it's easily my second favorite of the year. Also glad Doom Dark Ages was nominated for best action game.

Session 3 today. Taking it slow and exploring and collecting items. Absolutely love the turn based interactive combat style in this. It's more than just selecting magic or skills or attacks. I don't remember a turn based RPG where I was able to dodge, parry, and jump enemy attacks, and counter them with my own devastating attacks.
