In the game, players take on the role of "The Hunter," a customisable original character, and lead a team of Marvel superheroes. The story revolves around battling the demonic forces of Lilith, the Mother of Demons, who has been resurrected by the nefarious group Hydra. The gameplay involves strategic, turn-based combat, where players use a deck of ability cards to perform attacks, skills, and buffs. Between missions, players can explore the Abbey, the game's hub area, where they can interact with other heroes, upgrade abilities, and make decisions that affect the story and character relationships. Enjoyed it at first but towards the end I it got repetitive, would have been 4 stars if it was half the length. Still a good game and don't regret playing it, wasn't a fan of the social relationship aspect the game provided, as I am with most games

I always see people praise this game's combat but I'm just not feeling it so far? Granted, I've played like 4 battles in total, so it's probably gonna get a lot better as I continue playing, but at the moment it's just... a bit too bland and straight forward, I guess?

Super overlooked game! The game was awesome to play through and I gained a much deeper appreciation for Marvel(not really a MCU person). Was super fun and unfortunate we will likely not see a sequel.

This final mission is ridiculous. The spike in difficulty is insane. You expect me to take out two Dread Maidens, two Guardians, and two Mystics with only two heroes??

This mission genuinely upsets me.

Edit: The trick is to just beeline for the Infested Enemies since the Establish Seal cards clears out all the enemies in the room.

Edit 2: …

My personal ranking (in terms of combat usage) of all the playable heroes as of now:

  1. The Hunter (most versatile)
  2. Captain America (best tank and support)
  3. Wolverine (powerful offense)
  4. Doctor Strange (powerful support)
  5. Magik (fun to use)
  6. Blade (great attacks)
  7. Nico Minoru (roulette mechanic is fun)
  8. Ghost Rider (deals high damage, at the expense of his own health)
  9. Iron-Man (good …

This game has consumed me. I love the combat so much! I love the playable heroes so much! And I even like all the social aspects that many people disliked about this game!

Really loving the tactical combat of this game! But one thing I didn't expect going into this was the loooong downtime in-between missions. I knew there was a social aspect, but man, I didn't expect it to take 20-40 minutes each time! Anyways, I'm still having a great time with this overall!

I would like this much more if it has no cutscenes or home base parts, and was just the game part the whole time. The game is pretty fun, like a fun board game with exciting animations.

Look, brain.

While I know this is on sale, I don't have the time or comic book knowledge to fully enjoy it.

And that's that.

First game of the year completed (despite starting it in November).

I found the battles to feel a bit overwhelming at times with the constant reinforcements joining the fight and the DLC characters felt a bit underbaked but I really did enjoy it.

Shame it flopped.

I've been trying to make myself finish Midnight Suns since last December. It's just too long and slow for me. In particular, I really dislike how they handled levels. There's no point in having them in the game to begin with-- improving your deck and passives is already plenty of character progression. They just force you to grind to catch the heroes who fall behind up. Further, since EXP is per action, it's really easy for action hogs like Captain Marvel to get way ahead. Anyway, I actually like the game otherwise. I've just been ready to be done with it for 20 hours and there's still 20 left. Time to stop feeling guilty about not finishing and move on.
