Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl (2021)

I wanted to love this game, but it needs so much work

Despite having a solid roster full of decent characters to select, the game feels completely lackluster. It was fun for the first few minutes and quickly became a complete waste of time.

Some characters feel like they don't have a move set that matches their style. Others feel clunky, and some don't make sense at all. Despite having these flaws, the game is fun to pick up for a match or two, just don't expect to find anyone in the online matches.

Played a few rounds w/ my partner. It has potential but some of the characters just aren't effective at all (bummer if they're your favorite), and it is immediately jarring without voices. Is a Smash game a Smash game if you don't hear "PK fire/thunder" over and over and over and over again (but whatever the Nickelodeon equivalent is)?

So far Leonardo is my go to if I want to win, which is a shame because I would really like to play as Spongebob or something. My wishlist for characters:
Doug - basically the whole cast (how bizarre would it be to play a fighting game with like Chalkie vs. Mr. Dink?)
Rocko - At least Rocko, Heffer, and Fillburt
Fairly Oddparents - Timmy Turner (with fairies)
Rugrats - Suzie and Angelica. Can toddlers fight in video games? I wouldn't mind seeing Phil & Lil beat the snot out of the others.

How funny would it be to have some throwbacks and live action people too? Like Eureeka's Castle, Muppet Babies, Salute Your Shorts... Alex Mack, Moira Quirk. The Agro Crag could be a stage. Sniz and Fondue!?

Yet all of the reviews I’ve read, including both by critics and by players is that it’s a solidly middle of the run game, a C or B grade brawler that isn’t terrible but could also be much better.
