And it’s made worse by the fact that I just finished INTERmission where I was freshly reminded of the systems in Remake. I wish studios didn’t fee the need to drastically rework all the system in sequels just to differentiate it from the previous game. Sometimes things work and don’t need to be reworked.

Squeenix has a very poor grasp of the concept “to skip” in respect to the demo content. If I have to repeat two thirds of the demo, I’m not really skipping it. I guess “thanks Squeenix” for not making me skip the combat, but no thanks for forcing me through the painfully slow walking sequence all over again 😑

Slowpoking my way through the game, i'm 12 hours in now and just about to leave the first open area :D I did complete everything there is to do though in that map (i think), scared of how much time it's gonna take for me to platinum this :D Loving every single minute of it though, it's so good!

Almost any time I spend significant time with its D-pad or face buttons, I feel pain in my hands that I don’t usually get with other controllers. Luckily, this game has at least a partial savior in Barret, whose gun arm can be fired by holding down Square, unlike his comrades whose basic attacks require repeatedly tapping Square. Thank you Barret, you have successfully found the only way for me not to want to play as Tifa.

Ok I definitely see myself clocking like 5-7 hours into wandering around the grasslands doing sidequest stuff, lol. Also Queen's Blood might be the first time an optional card game in an RPG has actually clicked really well with me. Triple Triad and Gwent never hit quite right.

Wasn't superhot on the first one but enjoyed it overall. However for Rebirth - so far, so good.
