Preliminary: I've never been a big FPS guy, so here goes nothing. A super early example of what we think of as first person shooters now. And the title screen music is great (and the PC Engine almost always impresses). Anime look once I'm in the actual game, and the music reminds me of I dunno like a funky mid-90s console game music.
You can't seem to actually maneuver your gun around, which would have resulted in complex controls so I'm fine with that, but otherwise it feels very modern. You move fast like you have a run feature, and it has a horror game feel in that it's silent as you're wandering except for your footsteps. I will likely have to at least use a map if not a guide, but still fun to get this initial playing.
Day 2
Oh, turns out you can manually maneuver the aim, but not worth it apparently. Neat that you can dismember and whatnot, but doesn't seem to help.
Yeaaa this is quite impressive for its time. But the combat is a bit too cheap. Neat idea and beautiful and well-done for its time! Gotta give it credit for that! Worth showing …

Look: 8/10 Very impressive for its time. I love the equipment menu screen.
Sound: 7/10 When there is music it's good. But mostly just functional stuff and radar sounds to tell you when a Bug is near etc.
Play: 7/10 So many well-done niceties, like a map that makes sense (tho you gotta go through menus for it) and fast, logical movement. But a) first person shooters aren't really my thing, let alone such a rudimentary one, and b) it has far too much cheap difficulty.
Feel: 7.5/10 Impressive for its time, great Look, and technically well-done even if not my thing.
Attachment: 7.5/10 A memorable game, tho doubt I will replay it.
Overall: 7.4/10
