Day 22: Castle Crashers may be one of the first Xbox Live games I played a lot with friends online. It was a blast. Lots of memorable moments including listening to this bop while avoiding giant river catfish fur balls.
There are even better tracks than this, but this is the one that sticks in my head for some reason.

The bazillion times I've played through this game and I just found something I'm pretty sure I never knew:
I got to the ridiculous Corn Boss with the Icekimo, and I saw the two peasants just standing there uselessly in the corner. "These two assholes. Maybe I can make the corn hit them for watching me fight alone." When I …

Humor is ok in little doses. Lots of poop jokes.
Air combos are essential, but the timing is very difficult. Zero tutorial for this. No practice zone.

XP system is flawed. 1 hit = 1 XP. I understand devs implemented that to prevent iddle XP grind in online multiplayer, but it sucks for everything else. The end panel of a chapter is misleading: it shows the number of kills.*
If you play it casually (with children), you have to XP grind. Very boring. You basically get stuck because one character does all the work, therefore gets all the exp, then the other players are under-leveled and keep dying and dying.
Hitboxes are narrow. Getting stunned for days is boring. Getting perma-arrowed is boring.
Do you want strategy? Make easier air-combos. You don't want strategy? Make easier opponents. The game is trying to do both, and it's very clunky.
There are a billion of playable characters. Only the main ones have magic (except DLC ones...). Can't see their stats without loading the game.

Mostly fun but now stuck mid way through- seems like a lot of grinding is going to be required to build up characters more to get further, or missing something else. Probably will pick it up again.

Has anyone seen an actual date--and not just "Summer 2019"--for Castle Crashers Remastered on Switch/PS4? Like...it IS summer 2019...
I played the hell out of it on 360 with friends in high school/early college (and I have it on PC but don't really have anyone to play with on there), but I'm all about getting it for Switch.
