The mother of match-3 puzzle games began in 2000 as a browser game called Diamond Mine before releasing a year later for MSN Games as Bejeweled Deluxe where it immediately became the most-played game on their website. This version of the game is very simple and doesn't contain many features but it is still an enjoyable relic from the early days of the internet.

There are only two game modes, Timed and Untimed, depending on how much stress you'd like to add to your day. The goal is to make enough color matches to score points that fill a bar at the bottom of the screen. Each time the bar is filled, players move on to the next stage. If the bar fails to be filled due to no more color matches available, it's game over.

It is amusing that the developer and publisher of Bejeweled, currently known as PopCap Games, were originally known as Sexy Action Cool and developed online erotic video games such as Foxy Poker.
