Native Amegaman

This Mega Man-esque action platformer takes you through sacred woods and icy lands on a quest to beat the boss of each area, grab their power ups and ultimately save…I don’t know? Was there a story? I never noticed…but the different elements of Native American lore was cool and the graphics and design were colourful and interesting. The music is kind of short and loopy, but pretty good overall, and you’ll find yourself humming some of them by the end.

I like the variety in enemies and the different textures of objects and backgrounds - the game looks great and my favourite level is the Magic Forest with its dancing plants and evil fungi. Pink elephants being enemies in the Magic Forest…Coincidence? I think not. Whomp ‘Em is an underrated, undermentioned, late NES title from Jaleco that deserves your attention.
