Mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
4.28 average rating based on 29 ratings
Amazing game. The craftsmanship is incredible, good writing and interesting world. The game is also pretty hard at the beginning so progress feels great.
It's fully voiced, has some interesting characters and great quests. The new skill system is also great, you really have to focus on 1 main playstyle with some subclasses mixed into it. This is how overhauls should be.
Of course it has some bugs and flaws, the world is amazing but feels empty sometimes, there is one huge city and a couple of (really) smaller settlements, ranging from some villages to taverns. The lack of a fast travel system (which can be modded) is also annoying in the beginning since movement is kind of slow. However, once the teleport system (scrolls and spells, with the return of the mark spell) is introduced travelling becomes better.
Played for 43 hours, unfortunately life got in the way for a couple of weeks so I fell out of it. Couldn't really get into it again for now. Still have to finish so many quests and the main story too, maybe in the future :).
Gave this a go last night and it is downright incredible. An absolute master class. Incredible pacing, world building and environment design. Everything feels great. This takes the typical Elder Scrolls formula, improves on it in every way, and then goes off into it's own unique direction.
This being a completely free fan-conversion mod of Skyrim has me totally impressed, and yet it could stand on its own.
I've spent literal 1000s of hours in Skyrim alone, and yet this "mod" put new life into the game that nothing else ever could. Suddenly the familiar mechanics and sense of familiarity with the engine are now feeling new again.
Currently awed at the incredible sense of scale. Every single area is jaw dropping: thoughtful design is an understatement.
Bethesda... take notes... you got schooled!
