i kind of like this game. the art is beautiful, you have more to manage, and there's a change in scenery every few weeks. pleasantly surprised. i have not reached the end yet, i still have about 3 more hours of content before i get there.

warning, spoilers of the story ahead.

you begin as the king again. immediately, you're thrown into a difficult situation where you need to prepare for an attack. do something here and there, you end up "overthrown" so to speak. your castle is under the control of a gang, leaving you camping in a tent. for me, this is where the gameplay loop became tedious. some dialogue felt this way, too. you are essentially just rationing your resources and praying that the choices you make don't cuck you over so bad that you can't afford to pay any of your agents. i'm currently at a point where this is happening. i have many agents, and many many things to prepare for, but not enough of like anything. my kingdom is unhappy, and it doesn't help that the petitioners i get are all trying to scam me.

on the topic of petitioners, it's repetitive. the same exact petitioner has appeared in my throne room for 6 full weeks. the same exact topic, towns and farmlands mysteriously being set on fire, has been reappearing over and over and over again. i can't use any of my agents because they're all on fire and i have no money and they have no action points like SIGHH.

i'm rinse and repeating my actions, barely scraping by, which i guess is what the game is trying to go for here because we literally ARE scraping by, but i do wish that we could unlock the ability to employ more agents with time. you'd think a level 15 kingdom might have that. it's impossible to be prepared for everything and pay 20 gold for every single agent when you also need that gold to purchase goods. oh, there's also that new resource that you have to use to explore the map! not fun.

anyway it seems like i'm going to get a bad ending with the way this is going but i guess i'll do my best
