Despite being called the “Enhanced Edition,” the game features no quality-of-life improvements or visual enhancements. Just like when it was first released in 2007, the game is janky as hell by 2026 standards.

I've always wanted to play the Stalker games since they first came out. I like FPS games and the post-apocalyptic Chernobyl setting looked like it would make a great environment to play in with plenty of intriguing enemies and storylines. I somehow always missed playing it, but when the remastered Legends of Zone trilogy came to Playstation Plus I was excited to finally try it out.

I know these are old games and I really tried hard to give them slack and enjoy them for what they are. The graphics are fine enough. It seems like the games are actively trying to get me to quit playing though. These are hard games to play, and not in the souls-like or Super Meat Boy way. I encountered lots of bugs that should be resolved by now, poor gun play, poor enemy AI, and just a lot of overall confusion on how things were supposed to work.

A disappointing experience that I had much higher expectations for.
