Sand is all over the themes and visuals of this game and it makes it a little dull. Its not an ugly game, but it looks like a very generic open world title. That's almost true because this is a SEMI open world game with a boring plot, mediocre voice acting and a fun but simple exploration mechanics.

But the combat... the combat is amazing.

The fights against the big sand monsters called wraiths reminded me of hunting games like Monster Hunter or Wild Hearts. There are different weapons with several effects, more than 150 skills than can be equipped and armors with different strenghts. You can make very different builds and that makes for a very varied fights.

I don't like sand but I liked this game. You can read my full review in spanish here.

I think it's worth a look, but it's a shame it has so much focus in the semi-open world because I think it would have worked better as a hunting game.
