I love the original series, so I was pretty hyped by this game. That's why I bought it at launch, something I don't usually do. But it's definitely worth it.

The game has two game modes: Hello Abyss and Deep in Abyss. Hello Abyss follows part of the Riko's anime first season story and it's an introduction to the world and the gameplay. It may long around 4-6 hours.

Deep in Abyss is the real game, and where things get interesting. You create a character and have to become a White Whistle while exploring the fifth first layers of the Abyss. The Abyss itself is excellently depicted. You will see all the dangers of the Abyss you watched in the anime, and even if the graphics are humble, the art is gorgeous, both visuals and music. And the exploration is very well made too. You have to be cautious and prudent with both the dangers you will find and the supplies you have to buy, save, gather and use. This is a game of preparation. You won't win a battle because you are more skilled or faster than your enemy. You will win if you are well prepared. That's how this game works. Be prepared, advance with caution and explore an interesting Abyss.
