So I played both the PC (Beta) version and the android version. I joined the discord a few weeks before launch, and played it on day one. I don't have a lot of time to spend, so I didn't think much when I didn't finish all of the basics within the first day. however after 4 more days of learning new things, I began to dislike it. Not to mention the fact that I wasn't really playing. I would log in, and let it auto-run quests including fighting and interactions. Turning off auto fighting was a hassle you had to go through every single interaction. I never finished learning the rest of the games mechanics, because I was hardly playing the game anyway. (at least it was free(in terms of money)and my kingdom got all of my currency).
It's really pretty as you would expect a Ni No Kuni game to be, but this is just too typical of a mobile game. I don't like that you have to battle with the game to actually play the game. Seems to be setup to just auto play the game for you the entire time, I even tried to turn off the auto play and I couldn't turn it completely off. It just turned into a chore to "play" this game, all it is is a daily checklist of things to do. I tried to play this game with friends and it takes SO LONG to get to a point to be able to play together that by the time you can you're already over the game. I guess I was expecting more and instead got a typical cell phone game which was a disappointment. Just play the console games they are way better.
I absolutely adore this game, and have become obsessed. This has become my favorite game ever, and my favorite Ni No Kuni game. No it is not an auto game. You can switch between auto and manual, at the very beginning, and no it's not a pay to win. I enjoy games that require time and a grind. I Love the artwork, the story, and combat. There is so much to do, and NO it doesn't overwhelm you. It keeps you interested, and lets you do so many things, which is something I think many MMOs lack. I am very happy that I decided to try the game for myself instead of listening to all the negativity about it.
