Compared to other recent licensed kids games this is on the better end. The world looks good, there are a full set of combat and mobility mechanics and there is a decent variety of enemies with interesting combat mechanics. The game still suffers from some jank in platforming as mantling is inconsistent on anything but square edges and jump distance does not always feel tuned.

The character art is fun and gross and the overall story is fun and a good conceit to put Bob into different worlds. The major drawback is that the story gameplay is largely laid out as a fetch quest to lead you through contained "open worlds" that you will never actually freely explore unless you are easter egg hunting.

My 5yo likes it and likes watching me play. not a terrible experience and leaps and bound above many similar licensed games.
