About 4 years ago, someone (I don't remember who and they deleted their profile here) recommended the Turbo Kid soundtrack. I've been listening to it regularly all this time and today I finally watched the movie. It was a bizarre experience because I am so familiar with the music that it almost took me out of the film.

The movie itself is fine. I liked the vibes, the visual design and concepts. I'm a sucker for the weirdos wearing masks and strange overly-dramatic weapons. It reminds me of the Argentinan movie Daemonium. I love that they use exclusively bikes in the post-apocalypse, which makes more sense than then gasoline-guzzling trucks in Mad Max. I also liked some elements of the plot, like the justification for the manic pixie dreamgirl behaviour. What I really didn't like is that after playing the trope for a laugh and even subverting it in some places, they would actually fridge her. Come on, people. I know this is not a new movie, but even un 2015 I have to believe we were past that.

I've been listening to the movie soundtrack for years now and now there's a game with new songs by the same artist? Neat!
