More Unremarkable than Quintessential
This game is okay if you're a fan of the series, but it doesn't have much to offer outside of that. It's mostly a visual novel with some simulation aspects thrown in to determine which route you go down.

This game is okay if you're a fan of the series, but it doesn't have much to offer outside of that. It's mostly a visual novel with some simulation aspects thrown in to determine which route you go down.
Doing the sim part is okay the first time, but redoing it to get the other routes is a slog. 3 times a day you have to set a schedule for each quintuplet to determine whether they'll study a particular subject, go gather food, or rest. All 5 must have a parameter of 60+ in each subject by the end or you get a game over. This is easy, but it takes time to set everything.
The greatest contributor to it being mediocre was the routes not having any teeth to them. This takes place during summer vacation, after the school trip, when Nino and Miku are actively pursuing Fuutarou but he still isn't expressing any interest in anyone. As a result, there's very little actual romance and the endings go nowhere in particular.
Below is a brief breakdown of each route. Beware spoilers.
Ichika - She spends most of her route acting weird and you and the others are trying to figure out why and snap her out of it. It turns out it's because she still feels bad for what happened on the school trip. (You'll have to read the manga or watch the anime for details.)
Nino - This is probably the most satisfying route because Nino is very openly until Fuu-kun and it's all about her wanting to make memories together. Not much drama here.
Miku - The first half is good; you go hiking with everyone and there's some flirting and cuteness. Then she gets all up in her head about her future in the second half so it's a bit more dramatic. It ends on a positive note though.
Yotsuba - You have a really nice moment in a boat with a pod of dolphins then you fall overboard and wash up on the other side of the island. The rest is about trying to get back to the house. It's not bad, but there's no real flirting or anything. There's also a scene where she's still holding back on going for Fuutarou because she thinks it's unfair she knew him when they were younger.
Itsuki - This one is pretty standard Itsuki. She's trying to make sure nothing untoward happens so she ends up spending a lot of time with Fuutarou. Some flirty moments ensue. There's also a pretty bad fashion show in this route where Fuutarou gets to be a dress up doll.
There are also two other routes, the All route and Raiha routes, that are more about hanging out with everyone without much of a focus on any particular quintuplet. The All route does not equal harem route here. Not even close.
Overall it's a decent game, but I don't think it was a good place in the overall story to make what you would expect to be a romance/dating sim.
