Jumping back in to try to shoot for the platinum. Problem is, I made it a decent way into my NG+ run before I stopped. It's been almost 3 years, and man am I bad! Gotta relearn dem parries!

Came to this game after 200 hours in the amazing world of Elden Ring, and wow!

Just defeated Genchiro Ashina and this is what a boss fight should be like. Challenging, intense but fair and precise. Empowering, engaging combat which rewards skill. And the lightening deflect just feels incredible when you land it!

Elden Ring was truly amazing, but this boss fight was way better for me than any of the boss fights in ER.

Would love to see more of this combat system.

Sekiro wins for Best Final Boss of All Time, none other than Sword Saint Isshin.

Great music, unforgettable arena, four thrilling phases that relentlessly build up drama and push players to dance steps that seem far too fast to follow. Hesitation is defeat, so trust yourself, pull your partner close, and do something impossible.

Well, you don't get anything for it, not even an achievement, but I beat Gauntlet of Strength: Mortal Journey. For those not in the know, this is basically a boss rush of every boss in the game, plus three upgraded versions of existing bosses at the end. Well, you don't get anything for it, not even an achievement, but I beat Gauntlet of Strength: Mortal Journey. For those not in the know, this is basically a boss rush of every boss in the game, plus three upgraded versions of existing bosses at the end. I guess it's not a true boss rush because you can rest and recover resources between fights, but it's still quite the test of endurance, and I'm proud to have gotten through it. I'm not usually big on expert-level play in games, but something about Sekiro really grabbed me. Excuse me for being corny, but FromSoftware's games have taught me a lot about perseverance.

Playing Sekiro again... saw the Elden Ring trailer and remembered that Sekiro got the Gauntlets of Strength update I never checked out. I'm not usually big on boss rushes, but honestly I'm glad for any excuse to come back to what was maybe the best part of this incredible game.

I think this game just isn't for me. It's too much of a departure from other fromsoft games. That's fine, but I'm just not meshing with it. I actually like facing enemies, but bosses are just not it for me. It's weird considering how much I love bosses the most in every other fromsoft game.

Hot take: This is Fromsoftware best game to date. The final boss fight is my favorite fight of all time. The setting is fantastic.

I hit my first really big wall last night, and its name is Isshin, the Sword Saint. And let's not forget to mention that you have to fight Genichiro, Way of Tomoe immediately before fighting Isshin. That a total of four deathblows in one fight friends!

Holy crap! So, I encountered the Guardian Ape earlier today and managed to take it and then its headless incarnation down in a couple tries. I was feeling pretty good. Snuck into a cave and came across the second giant snake of the game (killed the first one) that I just managed to sneak by. Then I beat the second of the Snake Eyes gun wielding mini-boss sisters, having encountered the first yesterday. Well, after all that I jumped down further into the cave and what the hell did I find? The damn headless ape again. I thought to myself, I don't have it In me to do this fight before going to bed. But, why not give it a shot to see what I'm up against before I hit the sack?

Ok, so far so good, just got in one death blow, this is going well. Holy fuck there is a second ape. Now there is a headless ape and a brown ape both trying to either skewer me or tear me apart. I'm a dead man for sure.

Focus on the brown ape, but keep an eye on the headless ape. Got my firecracker, let's use that. Boom! The brown ape is down, now just one more deathblow on the headless ape and I'm safe. My heart is beating a mile a minute but I've got plenty of gourd uses left and spirit emblems for my loaded umbrella if I'm in a tight spot.

What happened next, you ask? I one shot that bastard! One shot both of those apes! Damn that felt good, I love this game!

Update: just killed Tokujiro the Glutton. Really need to get some sleep now.

I think I am enjoying this game as much as I enjoyed Bloodborne, which is significant.

Fuck the final boss. He's the only boss in the game that I have been stuck on for days. Also loving this game.

When I first started it did not make sense at all and the mechanics were not well explained. After playing for a while and picking up the mechanics, I loved this game. By NG+ and beyond most things were not a challenge due to the skills the player developed.

Really loved this one, classic Fromsoft game!

Just realised my "Sekiro review" on Steam is right at the very top of the ladder. This is what everyone sees when they're considering whether to buy Sekiro. 😂
