Crash Test Oliver is a slightly open world platformer / collect-a-thon with a few Metroidvania elements. It has some seriously challenging precision sections, an overworld, abilities, bosses, etc.
The game excels in the level design. It is highly creative and always changing, similar to Mario galaxy. Almost all of it is extremely fun, and this game is nearly perfect in the gameplay department.
The graphics, not so much, it looks like asset store stuff ( could be wrong) with a pavement texture applied. The cut scenes are janky, with very strange voice acting. It shows it’s cracks in these moments.
But who cares? We’re all here for the gameplay, and it absolutely delivers. If you want precision platforming in an open world structure, not many games do it better.
